The Art of Bonsai - April 2015

What:   Learning about Bonsai Plants
When:  11 April 2015
Where:  Fiona's House
Cost:    R120
Patrons Present:   Nadine, Lucy, Ana-Rita, Carol, Fiona, Amie, Clarissa, Linda, Chrystina and Hannah, Linda (Friend of Michelle), Michelle
Organised by:  Fiona
Chris started the event with a lesson on Bonsai, how it was started, how to care for your bonsai, what to feed it and how to maintain it.
Thereafter each participant got to choose a tree.  The idea was to look at your tree and draw what you wanted it to look like.  Once this process was completed, each participant then went ahead and trimmed their trees and wired the branches to start forming the direction it is meant to grow into.
Chris assisted where he could, but due to so many participants, could not get to everyone.  But as usual, people helped each other and gave ideas.
Once the trees were trimmed and shaped, the potting followed.
In all, it seems the event was a success. Hopefully all the trees will survive.  Chris said he will help should anyone need advice and assistance.
