Royale Eatery – Long St, Cape Town
A funky little eatery specialising in gourmet burgers and shakes.  As we were having dinner early, we sat downstairs in the more casual part of the diner.  The menu is extensive and  is presented in a little hard covered, aged-looking book – very quaint.  It was quite a difficult choice, due to the amount of variations – however I think it was unanimous, that the burgers are damn fine.  I had a Gogglymooly, which is a vegetarian burger of soya, chickpeas, pumpkin seeds with guacamole and hummus, without the bun (my choice), with a mix of sweet potato and potato chips.  Absolutely divine.  There is also a massive choice of milkshakes – I decided on a coconut and chocolate and Janine’s was an avo and mint.  They are superthick and more easily consumed with a spoon than a straw.  Maybe the pricing is slightly on the elevated side, but the service and taste make up for it.

We then went around the corner to the Intimate Theatre just off Orange Street to watch Theatre Sports.  Theatre Sports is akin to Whose Line is it Anyway, where nothing is rehearsed and the entertainment is ‘off the cuff’.  The show was excellent with lots of laughs.

On the whole, the evening was incredible, with good conversation, plenty of laughs and advice.  Thank you to everyone who joined us.
