We all met at my place at 8am.  Nice early start.  Route was planned out, starting at the furthest point, that being Landsdowne and working our way back to Milnerton.  There was one or two places that we skipped along the route, but also picked up new places that was not part of the route.  We found unusual places, places that we had not been to before.  We were very safety conscience and very lucky that the places chosen did not have loads of Q's or people in them so we had our safety distance in place.  The first stop was the towel factory shop in Lansdowne, bargains, bargains.  We might have gone a bit crazy on our first stop and some over spent the on our budget. Lovely shop assistants, we even found a Canadian married to a South African :-)

This was our route:

  1. The Towel Factory Shop - Lansdowne
  2. Oasis Charity Shop - Lansdowne, Skipped this one
  3. Secondhand Rose - Claremont, Skipped this one
  4. Resale therapy boutique - Claremont
  5. Wild Sprout - Kenilworth

PHOTO SHOOT AND WALK IN MAJIK FOREST - August 2020

What: Photo Shoot and walk in Majik Forest

When: 11 August 2020

Where: Majik Forest

Cost: Time

Models:  Janine, Kerry, Nadine, Lucy, Grace, Clarissa, Peyton, Fiona, Carol, Vanessa, Vannessa, Mitchell, Amie, Oakley, Ana-Rita, Linda.

Organised by: Kerry

The Surprise Photographer: Chris Opperman (a million thank you's)

It had been a very, very long time since the KKC ladies had had a photo shoot and with the wild and changing times we’re living in, together with Nadine’s diagnosis, we decided to ‘Carpe Diem’ and organise.

The theme was to dress in either dark pants/skirt and to  wear something pink to show we stand in solidarity and friendship for our Nadine.

The weather was cool to cold, but the friendship was as warm and loving as it always is.  We managed to find some beautiful scenery, (some nimble young ladies climbed trees and lay on giant logs) and we all pulled together for an amazing shoot.

Afterwards we took a walk along the perimeter of the park, with some of us leaving painted rocks, dream catchers and candles and others with eagle eyes found the hidden rocks and treasures left by others.

It was a beautiful afternoon, with the weak winter sun forcing it way through the branches of the trees and doing it’s best to warm us up, but the walk and friendship did that job perfectly.

Thank you so much to all of you that came through, this shoot is what I would call ‘a cathedral in time' where we took a few hours to share some very special and now  we have everlasting memories which encompassed the amazing friendship we share.
