MACRAMé - AUG/SEPT 2021

What: Macramé
When: Sat 16 Oct
Where: Opperman Abode
Cost: R80pp
Artists: Carol, Fiona, Amie, Vanessa and Ana
Organised by: Fiona

Fiona hosted and taught the lovely ladies to do the basic knots used in a beginners Macramé pot holder.

On arrival, each person was given a few cords/rope to practice the basic knots. Once mastered, teaching each on individually on how to set up and start the pot holder.

As Macramé is unique to each person's vision and ability, it was amazing to see the progress of each one's handiwork! Carol and Vanessa completed their first one during the afternoon, and took home the second one to do at home.

Unfortunately, due to various reasons, not all could join for the afternoon. Although preparation went into setting up with each person's "kit", the kit is available to collect or to visit when they have a time during their busy weekend schedules to join for an informal session to learn the art.

Sincerely hope those who attended had fun and will make use of this amazing relaxing and soothing technique to destress during tough times.

COASTERS WITH TILES - JUNE / JULY 2021

 What: Coasters with Tiles

When: Sat 21st August

Where: Speck Abode

Cost: R40pp

Artists: Carol, Fiona, Janine, Vanessa, Lucy

Organised by: Vanessa

Its always fun to re-purpose something old into something new and beautiful.  As always, using our imagination, some paint, stickers, and stencils, adding in lots of laughter, eating and sipping on champagne, all makes for a fun day and beautiful results.  Whether they end up as a coaster or as a piece of art on wall, its all about the memories being made and to remember that memories don't cost anything.

We did also all agree that adding a ribbon tied around the coasters would make for wonderful gifts.

Thank you to Fiona for the KitKat socks and combined with a clothes swop.
