On 29 October 2008, our group went to the Teddy Bear Workshop at Canal Walk to make our own special teddy bear friends. It's an ingenious concept. Firstly we chose a carcass. The prices of the carcasses range from R99 to R300 depending on the type of teddy you want. Then we moved on to the customised heart machine (your teddy bear needs a heart). You can choose either hearts that beat, to hearts that have special messages and even record a special message of your own. The hearts were put into the teddy beara and then we assisted with stuffing the teddy bear. Before the teddy bear was stitched up, we had to make a wish on a material heart and that was also put into our bears. Then we were off to groom and 'shower' our bears. Once that was done..it was time to choose the outfit. This is where the process got tricky. There were so many outfits and accessories to choose from. It was a difficult decision to make. Between the four of us we had a Viking, Superman, a hoody bear and Isabella (a girl bear with a black wig)...Once our bears were dressed, we named our bears and had birth certificates printed...Before we left with our new friends we took the teddy bear pledge to always love and care for them.... and I'm sure we will....
