BIG TOP ROCK SHOW - MAY 2019

What:  Big Top Rock - Let us entertain You
When: 28 May 2019
Where:  Barnyard Theatre, Willowbridge
Cost: R165.00 - Tuesday 2 for 1 Special - R82.50 minus my saved up barnyard bucks - R70/ticket and then cost of pizza
Patrons present:  Lucy, Linda, Kerry, Amber, Carol, Charnelle, Amie, Claudia
Organised by: Linda

We got to Barnyard in drips and drabs and chatted and caught up and ate pizza and had drinks, (Lucy was temporarily worried that she was the only alcoholic left in the group). It was Amber's first trip to the Barnyard and she was just so glad it wasn't an outdoor event on hay bales.  Amie and Claudia knew quite a few people, (it helps tone in the medical field- Charnel's still newish in the fraternity to know everyone).  Carol and Lucy were just happy to get some alcohol, while Kerry, Amber and myself were catching up on life in the Bos.

And then Big Top Rock started...

The show was absolutely amazing and colourful.  Acrobatics on a pole, on rope ropes, on material ropes... while songs are being pelted out by amazing artists... so beautifully coordinated together.
I'm always amazed at the rate of costume changing and this time I was even more amazed at the outfits they had on and still wondering how the acrobatic artists got into some of their (latex looking) costumes.  We so nearly also had a full Monty show... so stunningly done with towels... and I'm sure some of us were hoping that somewhere along the way a towel edge would be missed, but alas, no...

My fave sessions were the singing of "C'est la vie" (lighting moving around and singer running around all over the stage to stay in the spotlight), ladies in gold being spun around on rope on ACDC's "thunderstruck", and Elton John on piano PLUS the nearly Full Monty.
From the smiles and the clapping and singing and the dancing along,  I think the show was overall enjoyed by everyone.

CLOTHES SWAP - APRIL 2019

What:  Chat, Chill and Clothes (etc) swop
When:  27 April
Where:  Amie's house
Cost:  no money, but donations to the swop were welcomed
Patrons present:  Fiona, Nadine, Ana-Rita, Clarissa, Peyton, Lucy, Amie, special arrival Janine
Organised by:  Amie

As April is the month of birthdays, I decided to have something low-key at my house. The girls got together for a session of chilling and chatting - which we combined with a clothes swop. The clothes swop events have become increasingly popular and have expanded from clothes and shoes to jewelry and any other previously loved home and decor items. Fiona and Clarissa proved themselves to be excellent stylists and created quite a few lovely ensembles - 2 of which were worn to church the next day.
We were very excited to have Janine join us for her first official appointment back on home soil.
Snacks were consumed, bubbly flowed and the afternoon was filled with relaxation and belly laughs - a perfect day.
All leftover items were donated to the Little Braveheart Luxury Garage Sale which will be taking place on 4 & 5 May.  Thank you to Lucy for  the great suggestion and delivering the goods to them.
