I wanted our last KKC of the year to end off on a high note and pay it forward. I organised a workshop to help make flowers for cancer patients. Lori a cancer warrior makes these hats for cancer patients. They are really beautiful. We arrived at Lori-Anne's house, put all our food down and proceeded to the material table. We each had a very important job to do. We spoke, laughed and worked hard. 😊
We made 73 flowers in total. There were also t-shirts on display. We had to pull Carol away as she was having soo much fun. Cancer has affected each and everyone of us in some way and it was a good day to help in a small way.

After wanting to learn to work with pewter for quite some time, we decided to finally give it a bash. Lee, of The Pewter Room, was our teacher for the afternoon and the class took place at her studio in Melkbos.
We learned to work with pewter sheeting and 'master' the various techniques of how to emboss, decorate and age this gorgeous substrate.
It was an enjoyable class and we all came away with a beautiful notebook with decorated pewter front and back covers. The girls brought along an array of delicious snacks and bubbly which rounded off the day beautifully.
All in all it was a very informative, rewarding experience which many of us would like to attempt again.
