Vawter Vednesdays Ladies Night @ Hemisphere
21:00 PM 16 July 2008 - 23:55 PM 16 July 2008
Wednesday Nights in the Mother City will never be the same, as NawtyMedia in association with Vawter bring you Vednesdays Ladies Nights.
Well, your traditional ladies nights out involves sexy (or not) males and copious amounts of alcohol with a fair amount of giggling and perving. Those evenings don't really happen so much anymore, not sure if we just don't get to hear about them since we don't move in that age group anymore!!! or if gals are just not into that kind of entertainment any more.
Every Wednesday night Hemisphere has a ladies night (though it does not appear to be restricted to ladies). The cost is R50 and for this you get a goodie bag and some delicious eats plus some pampering. Our goddie bags had a pair of sunglasses, g-string, lip gloss, eye make-up - powder and liner (though mine was pink - I can't imagine wearing pink on my eyes), a sample of body bronzer and a cloth for cleaning glasses. You can get in for free if you don't take the goodie bag. If you want the bag though you should book through Computicket or through Abby at Nawty Media - "Abby - NawtyMedia". The snacks were quite good as well including a yummy chocolate fountain. The pamper sessions were done in the lounge area. The downside to this is that there was not much light there. But our manicurist did an amazing job considering the dim light. There was also a girl doing make-up and I must say I was very impressed. I have never liked having my make up done by supposed 'professionals' as they always overdo it and I end up looking like a panda! But I really liked what she did to my, and the other's, makeup. Even in the light of the bathrooms it looked good! I do not know if the pampering was done in the lounge because the VIP lounge was busy - the owner was having his birthday party in there - or if that is normal.
The music started off well but eventually turned into doef-doef music which caused us (plus Janine's headache) to leave before midnight. All in all, it was an enjoyable evening and the goodie bag is definitely worth the money. We are going to go again, maybe when it is a bit warmer when you don't have to lug a jacket along to prevent freezing when you leave. BUT we will be making more of an effort to get a bit dolled up as we did feel rather frumpy amongst those trendy young girls!! And remember they do have valet parking for about R20, so if you are comfortable letting them park your car you just pull up in front of the building and they will park the car safely.
