On 21 June 2008, Lucy, Vannessa, Carol, Clarissa, Nadine and Fiona went on a "KICK BUTT" Diva day organised by Urban Mingle, at the Meerendal wine estate just outside Durbanville. For further details on Urban Mingle, go to: http://www.urbanmingle.co.za/
The program started off with some coffee and rusks, followed by a workshop on how to prevent an attack/rape. The two hour session involved some basic techniques of defense and with some (well, quite a bit) of participation from our side by practicing some of the "moves" on our friends! Very interesting, but for these "moves" to be of value, it is recommended that you go for further instruction/lessons. There were too many ladies present (18 in total) to have one-on-one sessions with the instructor. However, some of us, won't mention any names, did get to feel the instructor's six-pack:-) Oh sorry, what happened at the Diva Day, stays at the Diva day!
After the rape prevention workshop, we were introduced to some of Meerendal's wines, white and red and ended off with a rosé. Some of us thought that we could just drink before even being told about the wine, and had to ask for some more! OLIVER!!! Afterwards we had lunch and then off to some colour coding. Looking at the colours recommended for us, and what we actually wear, no wonder I often look dull! For future KKC ideas, contact Charmaine McCarthy at Skin on Plein (021) 979 3292/ 082 871 4478. They also present courses on how to apply your make-up for different functions (i.e. day, evening, wedding).
Two ladies from Triumph measured us to see if we are wearing the correct bra size (and some of us were quite surprised at what size they actually are!). My question still is, if you had no feet, would you wear shoes? So why wear a bra if you have no boobs??? We were also treated to a mini manicure during this session since we only sat around chatting when not being measured.
To end off the day we were introduced to some very kinky products...for the sweet spot. Since we tend to neglect the "sweet spot", a range of cleaning and freshening products were developed so that ladies could spend less time cleaning down there (by using nice little wipes) and pay more attention to our men. This could also be used on him, and a "great time" will be had by both for... well, lets leave it over to your imagination!!
And then it was time to go home, but being in such good spirits, we voted to end off our day (the KKC group of girls) with something to drink at Rhapsody's in Tyger Waterfront. And sadly, we had to end off our wonderful day of having "our" time, away from the husbands and kids, just to go back to "honey, where's my food...I'm hungry".
And just to add that there was a lucky ticket draw and Lucy was the lucky recipient of a meal for 2 at Meerendal. Thanks to Meerendal!
Lucy & Fiona also bought some Meerendal wine which is very highly recommended - Meerendal Pinotage 2003
