Plot

Diane Keaton is recently widowed after 40 years of marriage.  Vivian enjoys her men with no strings attached.  Sharon is still working through a decades-old divorce.  Carol's marriage is in a slump after 35 years.  The lives of these four lifelong friends are turned upside-down after reading "Fifty Shades of Grey" catapults them into a series of outrageous life choices.  From discovering new romance to rekindling old flames, they're each inspired by the scandalous text to hilarious ends.

We all met up at 1:30pm for 2:15pm show, got our popcorn and marched down to our cinema.... then had half hour to chat and catch-up while munching away at our popcorn (which in some cases didn't make it to the movie).  Janine watched it in Canada!

Most of us enjoyed the movie (Lucy was hoping for more laughs), I laughed and cried.  Clarissa apparently laughed at my laughing spells, and we all agree..... Andy Garcia is definitely worthy to be our older actor crush....... even Don Johnson looked great!

The female leads were superb... I loved the roles they played and with so much zest...so real!

I hope we're like them when we get to "that" age ;-) (and then a movie can be made about us!)

Seats on the 2nd level were perfect for viewing as t he show was on 3 levels.  Not as many laughs as I was expecting but a good show overall.  Would have loved a bette ending as was hoping Mr Right would be found!  All found it to be awesome.  I week prior we were meant to go, but the star was sick so ended up at Dias Tavern for a meal and laughs.

Theatre bug has hit all.

BITCH BINGO - MAY 2018

Carol did not win the bingo, Vannessa gave a body shot.  Our visit to Beefcakes was fun and thoroughly entertaining from start to finish.  Attractive quirky decor and staff made for a lighthearted party setting where the girls could unwind and enjoy our time together.  While the food was rather average, the entertainment was brilliant.  Bitchy Bingo was great fun too, and seeing that we were also celebrating Vannessa's 50th, it seemed only fitting that when one of the group (Clarissa) cried Bingo, Vannessa was roped in to receive the prize.  The evening also gave us a little more time to spend with Janine before she jetsetted off again.  All in all a very enjoyable evening with plenty of laughs, shooters and memorable moments.  

 

 
 
 
 

MAKING DUMPLINGS CHINESE CULTURE - APRIL 2018

Cooking Lesson - Dumplings making.  We decided to learn about food from another cultural and attended the Huang Lao Shi Mandarin Centre with Tony and his wife Nikita to learn more about the cultural of dumpling making.  Everything was set out and prepared for us.  We arrived, took off our shoes, offered drinks and some dragon fruit.  Nikita explained what needed to be done.  She also mixed the doe with chopsticks, that was a first to see.  Everyone was given various jobs to do, from chopping veggies to pouring drinks or entertaining Gracie. :-)

Tony cooked the dumplings for us and we also made extra so that everyone could take this home to share with their families.  Great fun was had by all.  The recipe was shared with everyone as well.  Please visit there website and try other courses they present.
